Associate's Degree
Pre-Business Concentration

The pre-business concentration is designed to meet the needs of students interested in accounting, economics, finance, international business, marketing, management and business administration.

Students should make choices that meet the requirements of the program of study that they plan to pursue in the Benedictine Business degree program or at other senior colleges.

Prerequisites
High School studies should include:

  • 2-3 years of math, including algebra and geometry;
  • 2 years of social studies; and
  • 2 years of science

Requirements
All students must complete the General Education core degree requirements (link to page 2 of general education core requirements), and they must complete the following courses specific to the concentration. Courses required for the concentration may also satisfy General Education requirements.

  • ACC 111, ACC 112 – Principles of Accounting;
  • BUS 105 – Business Computer Systems;
  • ECO 211, ECO 212 – Principles of Economics I and II;
  • MAT 121 – Finite Mathematics;
  • MAT 122 – Calculus for Social Scientists
    (MAT 223 may replace MAT 122)

Benedictine University
Students pursing their bachelor degree at Benedictine University can select from Business Administration in Management and Organizational Behavior and Business Economics ( link to degree requirements). Minors are available in Communication Arts, English, Language and Literature, Psychology, or Sociology. ( link to minor requirements) Sports Management and Sports Marketing ( link to concentrations requirements) concentrations are also available for Benedictine Business students.
