Campus Bookstore
The SCI Bookstore, located in the lower level of Dawson Hall, carries required textbooks and course material for all your SCI classes. In addition, a variety of college supplies and SCI apparel are also available.
Student Textbook Information
Select textbooks from the shelves of the bookstore, and pay at the register. Textbooks, required for all courses, are arranged on the bookstore shelves alphabetically by course/section numbers. Different sections of a course may require additional materials such as: student study guide, lab manual, supplemental reading(s), as well as, a different textbook.
Returns of textbook purchases can be made if the student has dropped or changed courses before last day of returns per semester or session. The original receipt must be presented at the time of return. Credit for the return will be given as follows:
1. The Business Office will issue a check in the amount of the return within two weeks of the return.
2. A refund, for return, will be made directly to the cardholder's account if the card is presented at the time of the return. Otherwise, a check will be issued, as stated above, for cash/check purchases.
3. Direct credit will be given to the student's account.
Textbook Buy Back
Buy back is the purchase of used books, textbooks and trade books, to be re-sold to future students at SCI or to a book wholesaler. The wholesaler determines the purchase price of the used books. Cash or account credit is given to the seller, usually an SCI student, at the time of buy back. Not all books hold a buy back value. Nonetheless, students are encouraged to bring all books they no longer need, nor wish to keep, to scheduled buy backs.
Faculty Textbook Information
Textbook adoption requests are distributed within a week of release of semester/session course offerings. Please be prompt in returning required information to the bookstore.
For assistance with textbook information, SCI faculty can access the Faculty Center Network (FCN). This network (FCN) is an excellent research tool for textbook adoption.
