Information Applicable to all Institutional Awards:
• Institutional awards are available to eligible transfer students enrolled in the traditional undergraduate program for fall and spring semesters only.
• Students must be enrolled in twelve (12) Benedictine University credit hours per semester to be eligible for the award.
• Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Benedictine Financial Aid Application in order to be eligible for the award.
• The maximum number of years a student is eligible to receive institutional awards is based on his/her grade level at the time of admissions. For example: An incoming sophomore is limited to a maximum of three (3) years or six (6) terms; an incoming junior is limited to a maximum of two (2) years or four (4) terms; etc.
• Students must maintain the required cumulative GPA for their award to be renewed each year. Failure to do so will result in a loss of the institutional award.
• The Honors Scholarship, Academic Achievement Award and Academic Recognition Award are mutually exclusive and may not be combined.
• Institutional scholarships are designated for Benedictine University tuition only. The total amount of institutional assistance from all sources (Pell, MAP, Outside Scholarships, Employer Tuition Reimbursement and Institutional Awards) will not exceed the standard full-time tuition rates, which is based on enrollment of 12-18 credit hours.
• For students living off campus or with parents, the total amount of all sources awarded (Pell, Map, Outside Scholarships, Employer Tuition Reimbursement and Institutional Awards) will not exceed $4,372 per semester.
• For student living on campus, the total amount of all sources awarded (Pell, Map, Outside Scholarships, Employer Tuition Reimbursement and Institutional Awards) will not exceed $7,697 per semester.
• Returning Benedictine University students, defined as students who earned Benedictine University credits prior to Summer 2007, will be grandfathered into the Institutional Award program. Awards will be calculated using the cumulative GPA at the time of acceptance into a Benedictine University traditional undergraduate program.
