Background
I began my teaching career in the spring of 1979. I taught seventh grade language arts for a year and a half, then I made a 20+ year detour. During this detour I went to law school, graduating in 1983. I then practiced law full-time until 2004. In the summer of 2004 I was faced with a decision, move to Vermont or leave my then employer, the United States Government. Being an Illinois native and a fan of warmer weather than that offered by Vermont, I chose the later option. Once I left this position, I decided to look at other possible jobs. I had always wanted to get back to teaching. I was lucky enough to be asked to teach a business law class at SCI, during the spring of 2006. Since the summer of 2006 I have been an adjunct faculty member at Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC), teaching classes in business law. I substitute taught at the public high schools in Springfield during the 2006-2007 school year. During the 2007-2008, I was asked to teach several different classes at SCI. I also continued teaching at LLCC and worked part-time at Capital Area Career Center (CACC).

I have enjoyed teaching and I hope to continue teaching for the foreseeable future. I have especially enjoyed my time teaching at SCI.

On a personal note, I am married and am an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. I reside with my wife Barb and a menagerie of pets in Springfield.
