Moving Forward

I've built up the courage to finally write it down
As easy as it sounds, pain constantly surrounds
Me and lingers in my heart. No escape. I'm trapped
Pacing around my room ticked off, and blasting rap
And in a song I sing the words, I'm moving on
Stay strong and keep moving on and on.
It won't be long until I meet up with my destiny
The sweet angel that God will send for me
And hopefully I'll turn 180 degrees
Love that sweeps her off her feet and drops me down to one knee.
Beliefs like these keep the beast at peace
So I release my mind and the pain's decreased.
But reality keeps me from dreaming forever.
That's just a helpful mechanism, that makes me feel better.
But you come back and like a fool I hold ya,
Making it harder for me, teary face on my shoulder.
Want to sympathize but as you apologize
I realize that behind your eyes lie, lies.
It won't help to give it one more try
All it will do is make us both still cry.
