Student Assistance Programs
Springfield College in Illinois offers a Student Assistance Program (SAP) service for assessment, short-term counseling and referrals through St. John’s Hospital. This program is designed to provide a highly confidential and professional service to students who are experiencing personal problems while enrolled at College.
While we all face conflicts that we manage on our won, occasionally we need outside support and assistance. The goal of the SAP is to help students identify the nature of their problems and locate community resources that can assist in resolving them. More
Student Volunteerism
The call to volunteer is prevalent throughout this world, and you have an opportunity to help those locally. All students are encouraged to get involved in community service and volunteer opportunities to make a difference on campus and in the community for a greater good. Service opportunities abound in Springfield in many different areas for people with many different skills. The student volunteer coordinator is responsible for helping you identify your ideal match to serve in the community.
The Volunteer Coordinator has matched students with community service organizations as well as planned several projects on campus, including the College’s Annual Angel Tree for students at McClernand Elementary School, Blood Drives, Food Drives for Thanksgiving and Christmas in conjunction with Springfield Diocese’s Holy Family Food Pantry, and an annual Easter Festival for local children with an Egg Hunt, Games, Crafts and the Easter Bunny.
